Held on Global Surveyors’ Day – 21 March 2024, WAIS hosted its much-anticipated Annual Lawn Bowls Social Night at the South Perth Bowling Club. The event not only celebrated the rich history of surveying, dating back to ancient Egypt, but also provided an opportunity for members, colleagues and friends to come together, network, and enjoy a friendly competition.
The annual event was highly anticipated with the event being sold-out within a week. We were delighted that Eugene Browne, whose name graces the coveted trophy, “The Eugene Browne Lawn Bowls Trophy” was able to attend.
As the bowls rolled and the competition heated up, it was evident that the teams were vying for more than just bragging rights. Reigning champions, Land Surveys, came prepared by entering two teams, determined to secure back-to-back victories. However, it was The Rolling Stones: Sam Hendy-Taylor, Craig Miller, Suretha Hendrie, and Brendan Bombadieri from Vision Surveys Consulting, who emerged triumphant, taking the title for 2024. Congratulations to the deserving winners!
